The Story:
This past summer and fall was an incredible experience for me at HOPE Universal Recording Studio.
Scott had recorded a previous CD with me in 2002, "Between Heaven and Earth".
As he walked into the studio and sat down, he opened his guitar case and gently lifted his
Taylor acoustic-electric cutaway. I sat there is total awe as the first notes and melodies came from
his guitar and voice. As he played, "I've seen the Light" with its soaring chorus, I was reminded
of John Denver's Rocky Mountain Suite. I knew something magic was happening as song after song
I felt myself drawn in and up lifted by each lyric, each melody and strum of the guitar. Some of the
melodies reminded me of Crosby, Stills and Nash, one of my all time favorites.
The songs included styles reminicense of folk, country, rock, gospel and even some
eastern sitar and chants but all in Scott's own unique style.
That day we did a scratch recording and vocal. I sat at the keyboards and a fiddle part was already
playing in my head; so in a few days I called him back to listen to the "sweetening". He was pleased.
I was pleased...and the rest is history.
Three months later the whole CD was complete.
Scott brought in some of the best Sedona musicians to play on the CD including a mandolin player,
bassist, a virtuoso flamenco guritarist, a drummer and percussionist, a female vocalist and a small
"choir" of kids to sing the chorus of the finale' "Before Our Eyes".
We began the mixing process together with Scott's keen hear for detail. After several weeks
of mixing, re-working a couple vocals and harmonies, adding some touches of keyboards here
and there, some nature sounds of the ocean and bubbling brook, it was complete.

My only regret was that I was moving to Ruidoso, NM in a few days and would miss
the CD release party!
My friends, this MUSIC is timeless and unforgettable. You will find yourself singing
along with the choruses and nodding your head to the rhythms. Kelly and I play it at home and
in the car when we are traveling having new adventures here in New Mexico.
We played it in Colorado a few months ago as we drove through the mountains.
John Denver would indeed be proud of the opening selection, "I've seen the Light".
At present, Scott is performing the music of this new CD in and around the Sedona area.
During the next six months he plans to tour within a 500 mile radius to various venues
in Arizona, California, Oregon, New Mexico and Colorado.
